Now if that isn’t irony…

While browsing around, I ended up on ANC.co.za, which, it became evident, was an unsold domain. The first ad was quite amusing. Also, take a look at the ‘related searches’.

Now if that isn’t irony…

Yes We Can

Who would have thought that 45 years after Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his ‘I have a Dream’ speech, America would have its first black president? It’s quite astounding how things sometimes turn out.

Extend your Sony Ericsson K800i

I’ve been using a Nokia 6020 for the past two years, but since it reached it’s expiration date about a month ago, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to become a Sony Ericsson owner – an aspiration of mine for quite a while now.

Introducing Yoop

Since I haven’t written anything about my Hip2B2 year-long project, I thought now is a good time to do so, as it’s going public in the next 2 weeks.

I decided to devote my year-long project to creating a social bookmarking tool for South African teenagers, as a result of my interest in creating websites and Web 2.0.

Wordle: Easy data visualisation

While browsing around, I found Wordle, a really nice content visualisation tool. Here’s the result of one of my experiments:

I think Wordle has tremendous potential. Although there are many other tag-representation tools, this is definitely one of the most versatile and easy-to-use ones I’ve seen. I’m definitely going to use this wherever I can.

Ubuntu experiences (and expectations)

Since my last report on Ubuntu, I’ve never felt the need to return to Windows. Although my experiences with  have so far been very exciting and positive, there are a few minor drawbacks that I would like to see fixed in the next couple of months. Until now, the only thing holding me back from jumping to open source completely was my Windows-based games. Now that I’ve left the intense phase of gaming, I saw no reason not to make a complete switch.

Malaysia, how I love thee

It’s been quite a time (to be exact: two weeks) since I’ve gotten back from Malaysia with Team Zealous. Things didn’t go to well in Malaysia for our team after all. We went to Malaysia with a dream and mission – a dream to hold the Bernie Ecclestone trophy in our hands and to bring it home. Our dream didn’t exactly come true, but many other dreams were realized.

Quick F1 in Schools update

If you’ve been to the Team Zealous website recently, you might have seen that the 20 day countdown to Internationals 2008 has finally started. Although I’m terribly excited at the thought of taking off for Malaysia in a week and a half’s time, the stress levels are rising. I wouldn’t call myself a crisis management junkie, but I’ll admit: I love the feeling of adrenalin in my veins at the thought of Team Zealous and the Internationals 2008.
