After having many troubles with the ‘Xauthorization file’ in Ubuntu (8.10) today, I thought I’d share the simple solution to the problem that took me at least an hour to solve. No guarantees, though!

I’ve been using a Nokia 6020 for the past two years, but since it reached it’s expiration date about a month ago, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to become a Sony Ericsson owner – an aspiration of mine for quite a while now.

Since my last report on Ubuntu, I’ve never felt the need to return to Windows. Although my experiences with  have so far been very exciting and positive, there are a few minor drawbacks that I would like to see fixed in the next couple of months. Please note that I am speaking (or rather blogging) under correction – these problems may be specific to my laptop, but judging from the many Google searches I performed, it’s quite common.

Boy oh boy. I’ve been spending the last 2 hours trying to get my video clips to work in PowerPoint. In the process, I’ve searched half the web (OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration) without finding a solution to my problem. Now that I’ve finally found a workaround, I thought I’d share my solution with the rest of the PowerPoint-video-problem-plagued community out there. So without further ado, here it is.
